About Us

Rapid Relief Group is an international organization providing humanitarian and emergency logistics support. We are expanding our presence in Ethiopia and are looking for a proactive and reliable Liaison Officer to serve as our local representative in Addis Ababa.

This role is crucial for building relationships, coordinating with local suppliers, and helping us navigate Ethiopia’s complex regulatory and procurement landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Local Communication:
Facilitate clear communication between our team and local partners. Translate documents and convey expectations in Amharic, English, and ideally French or Arabic.

Supplier Scouting & Vetting:
Identify, visit, and evaluate suppliers of emergency goods (e.g. hygiene kits, WASH items). Collect pricing, quality checks, and reporting (including photos).

NGO & Government Liaison:
Reach out to NGOs, hospitals, and relevant ministries. Book and attend meetings, follow up with procurement officers, and represent our company when needed.

Meetings & Representation:
Attend local events, expos, or coordination meetings. Prepare summaries and occasionally introduce our company with support from our team.

Problem Solving:
Assist with local issues (e.g. customs delays, supplier gaps). Know who to call and how to move things forward on the ground.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Fluency in Amharic and excellent English (spoken and written)
• Proficiency in French and/or Arabic is a strong advantage
• Self-motivated, sociable, and professional
• Previous experience with NGOs, procurement, or supplier coordination is a strong plus
• Comfortable attending events, meeting new people, and navigating local systems

Availability for Interview

Shortlisted candidates must be available for an in-person interview in Addis Ababa between June 29 and July 8, 2025.

Compensation & Contract

• Paid in local currency (ETB), based on experience
• Flexible contract options
