Hardware Engineer – Power Electronics & ECU Development
Join a team where you’ll design and build advanced embedded control systems used in vehicles, power systems and industri.
About the company
Our client develops and delivers advanced electronic control systems (ECUs) for the global automotive industry. Their technology powers vehicle functions in areas such as motor control, power conversion, and sensor integration.
With customers across Europe, India and the UK, they combine deep engineering expertise with long-term partnerships - from concept and prototyping to certification and mass production.
They are now looking for a Hardware Engineer to join their R&D team in Enebyberg, Danderyd.
About the role
You’ll work end-to-end in the hardware development cycle - from requirements and design to verification and release - developing high-performance ECUs for next-generation automotive applications.
Your work will focus on power electronics, motor control (BLDC/PMSM/asynchronous), DC/DC converters, buck/boost, and inverter design. You’ll collaborate closely with embedded software and test engineers, ensuring that hardware and software integrate seamlessly to meet functional safety, EMC, and reliability requirements.
You’ll also take part in design reviews, lab testing, and customer discussions throughout the product lifecycle - from first prototype to production release.
What you’ll do
- Design and develop hardware for embedded control systems (ECUs)
- Develop schematics and PCB layouts (Altium or similar)
- Work with power electronics: buck/boost, inverter, and BMS design
- Perform circuit simulations, validation, and EMC/EMI testing
- Collaborate with software engineers on HW/SW integration (HWIF, eTPU)
- Manage BOM, documentation, and design release for production
- Support customers and suppliers during product development and certification
